On tatami and in the ring, medals do something rare: they get worn to school on Monday.

Gold, silver and bronze have to look right side by side in the club cabinet — and survive the strictest judges of all: kids.

Medals made for the mat and the ring

  • Gold judo medal with two judoka mid-throw and the text JUDO CUP 2026, lying on blue tatami next to a folded white judogi and a black belt

    Judo medals

Two judoka mid-throw, the tournament name around the rim, red enamel behind. It looks like judo before anyone reads a word.

  • Shield-shaped boxing medal in antique gold with a glove in relief and a laurel border, on a red ribbon printed BOXING GALA 2026, boxing ring behind

    Boxing medals

Any outline comes straight out of the mould — a shield, a glove, whatever you draw. The name of the show goes on the ribbon.

  • Karate medal with a kicking figure in the centre and a ring of enamel in seven belt colours, reading KARATE OPEN 2026, on a stack of coloured belts

    Karate medals

Seven belt colours in enamel around the rim, from white to black. Every karateka finds their own.

  • Macro of a die-cast judo medal: the raised relief of a judoka gripping an opponent's collar, lit from the side

    Relief you can feel

Deep 3D relief catches the light on the podium and still shows in a photo taken from the back of the hall.

Gold, silver and two bronzes

In judo, karate, taekwondo and boxing, both beaten semi-finalists take bronze. That is four medals per category, not three: a tournament with 40 categories needs 160 medals.

    Bronze

  1. 01

    Category on the ribbon

Weight, age group or belt printed on the ribbon. The medal itself stays the same in every category.

  2. 02

    Category on the back

Or laser-engraved on the back: “-45 kg · U14” or “Kata · Women”. The front stays clean for the photo.

  3. 03

    A few spare bronzes

Brackets change on the day: one category merges, another splits in two. Most organisers order a few extra medals of each colour, bronze first.

Medals for every kind of tournament

  • Kids' judo tournaments

Often every child goes home with a medal, not just the ones on the podium.

  • Karate cups

Kata and kumite run separate podiums — two sets of medals from one design.

  • Taekwondo championships

Club and regional events with dozens of weight classes. A flat 2D medal with enamel keeps a big order affordable.

  • Amateur boxing shows

Bouts, not brackets: many clubs give both boxers a medal, so the count follows the number of bouts.

  • BJJ and grappling opens

The academy's crest cast in relief. Gi and no-gi divisions each get their own podium.

  • Gradings and end of season

Not every medal is won in a fight. A medal for a new belt or for the season keeps kids coming back to training.

Frequently asked questions

Medals or trophies: what should a tournament give?

Most tournaments give both. Medals go to every podium place in every category; trophies usually go to the overall winners or the best club. Medalior makes medals only, so trophies come from a trophy supplier.

Does the 50-medal minimum apply to each category?

No. The minimum counts across the whole order, so 20 categories with four medals each make one order of 80.

Can the ribbon carry our club colours or the federation logo?

Yes. The ribbon is printed with your design and included in the price: club colours, sponsors, the tournament name. A federation logo can go on too if the federation allows it. Printing on both sides is available.

What medal size suits a kids' tournament?

Go smaller. A smaller medal sits better on a child and weighs less. Keep the wording short too: the tournament name and the year read better than a long line of text at that size.
